Crysis 3 didn’t make it to Wii U
Crysis 3 was up and running on the Wii U but it was never going to make it to retail because of lack of support from Nintendo and Electronic Arts, according to Crytek’s founder, CEO, and president, Cevat Yerli .
In an interview with VentureBeat about Warface, Crytek’s free to play shooter, Yerli said, “We did have Crysis 3 running on the Wii U. We were very close to launching it, but there was a lack of business support between Nintendo and EA on that. Since we as a company couldn’t launch on the Wii U ourselves — we don’t have a publishing license — Crysis 3 on Wii U had to die.”
On one hand, this shows that Wii U is struggling to attract third-party support, but on the other hand, it shows that technologically, the Wii U is keeping up with its current competition.
